Uniform Coming Together

Getting excited as pieces of my uniform start to arrive. I'll get my Jersey's (one red and one white) at check in. I'll also get a headband. Not sure how excited I am about that.

Pride vs Chicago Bandits

This is a picture of Lacey and me from last year and a picture of her now on the Chicago Bandits. I will get to see her team play the Pride after our Elite Select tournament ceremony. You can see the game at ESPN Wild World Of Sports.

Great Lakes Roster

This is my Great Lakes Team roster. I don't know these girls but can't wait to meet them. I've played against several of these teams in previous World Series games in Chattanooga and South Carolina

Uniform

This was the uniform I thought I would wear if I made the NE Region, but was asked by USSSA if I would mind pitching for the Great Lakes team! I'm just thrilled to have made it and to be playing. I will proudly wear the Red, White and Black of Great Lakes!

Traveling Home...

Left Pittsburgh. Stopped in Philadelphia. Just wanted to be home.

Back At The Hotel

I did it! I wasn't sure it was my best but I did it and made it through the tryout. I was glad to get back to the room. All I wanted to eat was chicken noodle soup. Dad got some for me.

Working Through The Tryout

I just tried to ignore how I felt as I worked through pitching, base running, hitting, and throwing.

Me pitching with my unknown catcher friend

That's Hanna Rogers sitting on the bucket! I was so excited to see her, I watched her on TV all last year!

Hanna Rogers formally with my favorite softball team the Florida Gators!

After 4 hours I was happy enough to make a face with Hannah. That's me in the middle with her. That's also Breja'e Washington of the USSSA Pride!

Signed In

I made the decision to give it a try, we travelled a long way. I didn't feel well at all, but wanted to do this so bad. Here I am after signing in and after listening to the National Scouting Report people and Pride Players speak. I'm sitting way over on the left.

Feeling Bad Before Tryout

This is me sitting in the car, wanting to tryout so much, but feeling awful and I was burning up with fever. My Dad just kept telling me "it's ok, you don't have to do this, you've proven all you need to prove to me."

At The Doctors Office

The day of the tryout I began to feel very sick. My dad took me to the doctor and we both found out I was running a very high temperature of 102' but was negative for strep and flu. The doctor barely let me tryout that day. I felt awful, but my mind was made up I was gonna do this.

Arriving In Pittsburgh

Met these two guys at the Pittsburgh International Airport when we landed!

Flying To Pittsburgh

Me traveling to the tryout in Pittsburgh, PA from Norfolk, VA. Our flight was early on a Saturday in May. I wasn't feeling my best, wasn't even sure I was well enough to go, even though I really, really wanted to. With my dad and I both feeling bad we began our adventure.

Found Out I Made It!

I just found out that I made the USSSA Elite Select All American Fastpitch Team, and I will be pitching for the Great Lakes Region. I'm very excited! I love to write so I decided to create a Blog to share my adventure.  I hope you will follow along with me on my journey! Madi
